Newest firstDraft genome sequences of seven Bacillus strains isolated from Chelidonium majus seeds and six Pseudomonas strains isolated from Cannabis sativa roots and stems are reported. These genome sequences provide a foundation for functional and comparative genomic analyses to unravel potential traits associated with plant growth promotion and protection.
Open article record in new tab ↗ABSTRACTAlthough bacterial isolates from Cannabis flowers were reported and sequenced, few from its rhizosphere have been characterized. Here we report the draft genomes of six bacterial strains isolated from Cannabis rhizosphere soil samples. These sequences may shed light on plant-microbe interactions in the Cannabis rhizosphere at the molecular level.
Open article record in new tab ↗Paenibacillus polymyxa strain HOB6 was isolated from hemp seed oil. The strain displays antimicrobial activity against fungal pathogens and has potential for development as a biopesticide against cannabis diseases. Its genome was sequenced and annotated, uncovering the ability to encode the biosynthetic pathways for antimicrobial lanthipeptides and nonribosomal peptides.
