Exploring the effects of cannabidiol on pain sensitivity using quantitative sensory testing among individuals receiving methadone or buprenorphine for opioid use disorder: an open-label, proof-of-concept study
Abstract First QST study of CBD in OUD with chronic pain on methadone or buprenorphine. Proof-of-concept within-subject, dose-escalation paradigm (400, 800, 1200 mg CBD). CBD analgesic signal stronger on buprenorphine than methadone, especially at 400 mg. Methadone + 1200 mg CBD increased pain facilitation (higher TSP). CBD well tolerated across doses; no serious AEs or cognitive impairment. Article type: Brief Report Keywords: Cannabidiol, Chronic pain, Opioid use disorder, Craving Authors: Gabriel P.A.
