Abstract Background: Baculoviral inhibitor of apoptosis protein repeat-containing protein 5 (BIRC5), also known as survivin, belongs to the inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAP) family and serves as a key regulator of cellular survival and programmed cell death.
