Perceptions, Attitudes, and Knowledge of Cannabis and its Use: A Qualitative Study among Herbal Heart Study Young Adult Cannabis Consumers in South Florida
Abstract Participants reported both the health benefits and risks of cannabis use. Potential of cannabis as an alternative therapy or part of holistic medicine. Thematic analysis guided by the theory of Health Belief Model. Knowledge on cannabis and its effects primarily derived from personal experiences and anecdotes. Respondents expressed desire for evidence-based cannabis literacy and need for further research on cannabis science.
