Clinical decision support for tobacco screening and counseling parents of pediatric patients: A qualitative analysis of pediatric emergency department and urgent care professionals
Abstract PED/UC nurses and physicians endorsed an EMR-embedded CDSS to reduce child TSE. Professionals liked the brief CDSS electronic prompts and referral options. Nurses and physicians suggested optimal timing for CDSS use during the PED/UC flow. Nurses suggested that CDSS prompts include cannabis screening and NRT prescribing. Professionals proposed additional resources to improve the PED/UC intervention.
