Researcher profile
Arashdeep Singh
My journey in science began at Thapar University, India, where I earned an undergraduate degree in Biotechnology with a focus on gut health and dietary probiotics. I pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Calgary in the lab of Dr. Prasanth Chelikani, investigating how dietary protein and prebiotic fibers influence gut microbiota, energy balance, and metabolism. Following my Ph.D., I joined Dr. Guillaume (Will) de Lartigue’s lab to study the neurobiology of the gut-brain axis and its role in energy homeostasis. Throughout my research career, I have worked extensively with rodent models of hypertension and obesity, including monogenic and polygenic models, and developed expertise in metabolic phenotyping across a variety of disease states. Currently, I am a Project Manager and Scientist at Research Diets, Inc., where I collaborate closely with the Nutrition and BioDAQ departments. I assist researchers worldwide in designing rigorous, reproducible studies, leveraging my background in nutrition and metabolism to refine experimental approaches and improve study outcomes. Beyond my professional work, I enjoy mentoring early-career scientists, traveling, socializing, and exploring different cultures. Science has taken me across the world, and I am always eager to learn from new perspectives and foster meaningful collaborations.
