Adam Lewis
I work in the School of Health Sciences at the The University of Southampton on a mixed teaching and research contract. I am the Physiotherapy BSc programme lead for respiratory teaching and year 3 lead. I am passionate about improving the lives of people living with chronic respiratory diseases, breathlessness and breathing pattern disorders through my research. I Have mixed methods research expertise having completed my PhD in qualitative methodology, understanding the lived experiences of people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease from being referred to Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR). I have also been a Chief Investigator in a Pulmonary Rehabilitation maintenance randomised controlled trial (RCT) with a qualitative embedded study, and principal investigator in further RCTs in PR and lung volume reduction surgery. I have an honorary contract with The Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, Brunel University London, and University Hospital Southampton.
