Augustine Choko
Dr. Augustine Choko is a Senior Lecturer at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the International Public Health Department but based full time at Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Research Programme (MLW) in Blantyre, Malawi. He received his PhD and MSc in Epidemiology from London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). He has worked on HIV testing designing and implementing facility-based and community-based studies in Blantyre, Malawi. His work in HIV self-testing (HIVST) has contributed to national and international policy changes leading to wide scale consideration and implementation of HIVST in many parts of the world. His most recent work involved designing and implementing a complex adaptive multi-arm multi-stage cluster randomized trials through a Wellcome Trust Fellowship in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He is a current Global Advanced Fellow of the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR). He can be contacted at augutc@gmail.com.
