Diana Serbezeanu

Dr. Diana Serbezeanu is a Senior Scientific Researcher (grade III) at the "Petru Poni" Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (ICMPP) in Iași, Romania, within the Laboratory of Polycondensation and Thermostable Polymers. She holds a PhD in Chemistry (2011) with a thesis focused on phosphorus-containing polymers for high-performance materials. Her career is marked by significant international experience, including a prestigious SCIEX Post-doctoral fellowship at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (EMPA), where she pioneered the design of nanoporous membranes using custom-made soluble polyimides. She also conducted specialized research at AIDICO in Spain on the flame resistance of semi-interpenetrating polymer networks. Dr. Serbezeanu’s excellence has been recognized with the "Cristofor I. SIMIONESCU" Award of the Romanian Academy (2022) and the 2025 L'Oréal – UNESCO "For Women in Science" Fellowship. She is an active leader in the scientific community, having served as Project Leader for multiple national grants and as a Subcontract Manager for industrial R&D services.
