Ahmed Metwaly
Dr. Ahmed is a professor of natural products at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, and one of the top 2% of the world's scientists, according to Stanford's ranking for 2022-2025. With more than twenty years of academic research and teaching experience, he has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed scholarly articles published in top international journals. His research interest is drug discovery from natural, synthetic, and semisynthetic sources. He was a visiting scholar of TCM at Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dalian, China (2018–2019), and at the School of Pharmacy, NCNPR, University of Mississippi, USA (2012–2014). He taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students several courses, including phytochemistry, pharmacognosy, and botany, as well as advanced chromatographic and analytical techniques (HPLC, HPTLC, GC, UPLC, and LC-MS) and advanced spectrometric techniques (MS, IR, UV, and NMR).
