Researcher profile
Fabio Marchetti
Fabio Marchetti received a M.Sc. degree in chemistry (1991) and a Ph.D. in chemistry (1996) from the University of Camerino, Italy. Then he joined the University of Camerino as a Researcher, and in 2011 he became Full Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the School of Science and Technology at the University of Camerino. Prof. Marchetti’s research program focuses on outstanding challenges at the interface of inorganic and materials chemistry, mainly carried out in the field of coordination chemistry of N- and O-donor heterocycle-based ligands towards main groups, transition and rare hearth metal acceptors to design and synthesize molecular compounds, coordination polymers (CPs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with potential applications in catalysis, anticancer or antimicrobial activity, or as luminescent additives for sensors and biosensors.
