Researcher profile
Peter May
I am a researcher focusing on economics of care for people with serious and life-limiting illness. I work with an interdisciplinary network of collaborators to design and analyse evaluations of interventions for patients and their families. My main projects encompass both primary and secondary research methods in the UK, EU and US. My research has been published in leading clinical, policy and methods journals, and is widely acknowledged as having advanced the economics of palliative care. Since 2019, I was involved as an investigator or co-investigator in successful funding applications worth more than €45million. I have supervised graduates and postgraduates in study and research. Contributions and areas of expertise include research design and validity, analysing observational data, propensity scoring and bias, modelling cost data, and estimating treatment effects. I welcome contact from other researchers (all career stages) and institutions interested in possible collaboration.
