Natalie L Edelman

I am a mixed methods researcher - specialising in applied social epidemiology, clinical prediction modelling and qualitative interview approaches. I am also a Public Health Specialty Registrar. My academic work focuses on trauma-informed approaches to research (especially regarding sexual & reproductive health and mental health). I take a social justice perspective to my work, focusing on seldom-heard groups including women with problematic drug use, survivors of modern slavery, care leavers, injecting drug users and men who have sex with men. I combine a part-time research fellowship at the University of Kent (with an affiliated visiting fellowship at Brighton & Sussex Medical School) with my Public Health Registrar position in the School of Public Health for Kent, Surrey & Sussex. I'm also a qualified Registered General Nurse by background and a carer. I bring research, practice and lived experience to my work.
