Dr Amani Adidja

I lead vaccine introduction strategy across 47 African nations at WHO AFRO, where I've coordinated the deployment of new vaccines reaching 10+ million children. My work bridges late-stage vaccine development, regulatory readiness, and implementation at scale—connecting manufacturers, regulators, and governments to move products from approval to impact. Since September 2023, I've served as Regional Adviser for New Vaccines Introduction, leading the AMVIRA malaria vaccine emergency response that established coordination across 24 countries. This included building multi-partner platforms with Gavi, UNICEF, PATH, and WHO country offices, and launching a continental learning infrastructure reaching 1,200+ professionals. Before joining WHO AFRO, I served as National Director of Vaccination in Cameroon (2019-2022), where I established the country's National Commission for Vaccine Batch Release and led COVID-19 vaccine deployment. I've also worked as a consultant supporting health workforce strategy across multiple African countries.
