Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Department of Food and Drug, University of Parma (Italy). Member of the Teachers Board of the PhD course in Drug Sciences, University of Parma. Teaching activity of medicinal chemistry courses for degree and Master’s degree courses. Member of the Editoral Board of Journal of Pineal Research. Co-author of more than 130 research papers and co-inventor of three patents and patent applications. Main research interests: drug design; structure-activity and structure-property relationships. Pharmaceutical analysis, lipidomics. Main research fields: melatonin receptor ligands; compounds acting on the endocannabinoid system; inhibitors of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR); -omics profile of cancer cells.
