Christine Mohr

I am an experimental psychologist having two main research lines. First, I have always been interested in individual differences that can explain irrational beliefs such as paranormal and magical ideation, superstition, and conspiracies. Using cognitive, neuropsychological, and psychopharmacological methods, I investigate which factors might explain why some people are more prone to embrace such beliefs than others. Well over a decade ago, I also became interested in the relationship between affect and colour due to my research into synaesthesia. Today, we are running large-scale studies in over 70 countries and in different populations providing much needed baseline data on colour-emotion correspondences. Our results enable theoretical advancement and are essential to interpret supposed colour effects in applied contexts (e.g., interior design, chromotherapy).
