Sara Weidberg
I finished my degree in psychology in June 2010 and had a collaborative grant from the Ministry of Education in my final year (academic year 2009/2010) that enabled me to carry out my first research work in the Addictive Behaviors Research Group of Oviedo University. Since then, I have been working in this research group thanks to a predoctoral grant from the Scientific and Applied Research Promotion Foundation of Asturias (FICYT) through research projects as part of my predoctoral training. After defending my doctoral thesis, I was hired via several research projects as a postdoctoral researcher. The research work in this group has enabled me to publish 41 national and international publications in journals indexed in “The Journal Citation Reports”, collaborate more than 100 oral and written communications in congresses (winning 14 prizes for the best communication in different congresses) and participate in 9 national and 1 international research projects over the last few years. Another important achievement in my curriculum is the work carried out with some of the most prestigious researchers in the field of addictions by spending two periods abroad: one in the United Kingdom and the other in the United States. All my research work resulted in the presentation of my Doctoral Thesis (June 2015) defended by a compendium of scientific publications, earning the distinction of International Doctor and the Outstanding Cum Laude mark. In this regard, I consider it relevant to emphasize my winning in January 2017 of the Extraordinary Doctorate Award for my research work carried out during my doctoral thesis. I have likewise obtained several prizes from the “College on Problems of Drug Dependence-CPDD” in 2018 and 2020. I have also mentored one doctoral thesis.
