Dr. Amobi Onovo

Dr. Amobi Andrew Onovo is a quantitative epidemiologist, global health data scientist, and implementation researcher whose work focuses on using Bayesian modeling, causal evidence synthesis, and artificial intelligence to improve resource allocation and public health decision-making in low- and middle-income countries. His research spans routine immunization, infectious disease epidemiology, HIV, epidemic surveillance, and health systems strengthening. He develops transparent, uncertainty-aware decision-support tools that integrate heterogeneous data sources to guide policy and funding decisions. Dr. Onovo has led national and multi-country analytical programmes with governments and international partners including UNICEF, Gavi, USAID, and PEPFAR. His work has informed vaccination targeting, disease burden estimation, surveillance, and implementation strategies across Africa.
