BEDRU JEMAL ABAFITA
Biography Bedru completed a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Anesthesiology. He was successful in an international scholarship to do a PhD in medical research at Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania, Australia. His PhD focused on comparative effectiveness of treatments for knee osteoarthritis. His expertise includes design, conduct, analysis and scientific writing of clinical trials and observational studies. He is working as a research assistant in Get Busactive trial. He has published over 40 articles . His publications include top-tier journals such as Lancet, PLoS, Sage Medicine and Critical Care. He has received young investigator awards from ESCEO-IOF Young Investigator Awards. He is a peer reviewer for many international journals, including Annals of Internal Medicine. He has given oral presentations at the annual scientific meetings of the World Congress on osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal diseases (WCO). Bedru's current interests are in 1) Clinical trials using objective outcomes. 2) Perioerative medicine and critical care studies. 3) Epidemiological (cohort) studies . 4) Burden of diseases, including musculoskeletal diseases and perioperative oucomes. 5) Evidence-based complementary and integrative therapies 6) Evidence synthesis, including systematic reviews & meta-analyses Publications may appear under both Bedru Jemal and Bedru J.
