Eman A. Ashour
Dr. Ashour has significant experience in pharmaceutical research and development including pre-formulation and formulation development of solid dosage forms to enhance the solubility, absorption and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble compounds using hot melt extrusion (HME) technology. Her research has focused on formulation development of tablet and capsule dosage forms and characterization of prototype formulations including in-vitro drug release using different USP dissolution apparatuses. She has used model independent and model dependent and in vitro-to-in vivo correlation (IVIVC) approaches. Additionally, she has significant experience in ocular drug delivery research with special emphasis on solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) and nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) formulations as well as polymeric films. I have applied Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and the Design of Experiment (DoE) approaches to control and evaluate pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. She has experience conducting experiments under GLP guidelines including analytical testing using HPLC, UPLC, GC/FID, FTIR and PXRD. For last few years, she engaged in many research projects utilizing Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing technology. Ultimately, her research goal is to continue to focus in the drug delivery area and expand her research skills in the HME and 3D printing by incorporating new applications to develop commercialized pharmaceutical product. She has written and reviewed several scientific manuscripts in peer reviewed international journals and participated in the review and analysis of chemical processes and formulations involved in the manufacturing of a variety of compounds.
