Alejo Nevado-Holgado

Alejo Nevado-Holgado’s background consists on a BSc+MSc 5 yeas program on Artificial Intelligence (AI), another BSc+MSc 5 years program in Computational Physics, and a PhD in Computational Neuroscience and AI. He is now the lead for AI and Bioinformatics at the Department of Psychiatry of the Unviersity of Oxford, where his lab is formed by 22 machine learning and bioinformatics speciallists. In addition he also holds a position in the Big Data Institute of the University of Oxford, and he is the Chief of Artificial Intelligence at Akrivia Health (https://akriviahealth.com/), a University spin-off applying AI to secondary mental health EHRs. He and his teams have a strong track record on the applications of AI to the study of mental health. This translates into 13 publications during the last year alone, with 10 of them having impact factor above 10. His current grants amount to approximately £2.0 million dedicated to his group, with the largest of them being the Virtual Brain Cloud (H2020-SC1-DTH-2018-1) from the European Comission, and “Brain - Plasma Proteomics Biomarker Discovery and Validation in the US and UK” (1RF1AG057471-01) from the National Institute of Health in the USA.
