Benjamin Meir Jacobs

I studied medicine at the University of Oxford (2010 - 2016). I did the Academic Foundation Programme (2016 - 2017) followed by an Academic Clinical Fellowship in Neurology (2017 - 2020) at Barts Health NHS Trust and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). I then did a PhD in Multiple Sclerosis genetics at Queen Mary University of London funded by an Medical Research Council Clinical Research Training Fellowship (2020 - 2023). Since completing my PhD I have continued specialty training in neurology in the North East London deanery alongside research, funded initially by a Guarantors of Brain Post-doctoral Fellowship (2023 - 2024) and subsequently by an National Institute of Health Research Academic Clinical Lectureship in Neurology (2024 to present). Currently I work as a lecturer at QMUL (50% FTE) and as a neurology specialist registrar at Barts Health NHS Trust (50% FTE). My research focuses on integrating genetics, omics, and data science to better understand the biology of common brain disorders, with a focus on Multiple Sclerosis.
