Jeremy Horwood
Professor of Social Sciences and Applied Health Research at The Centre for Academic Primary Care (CAPC), Bristol Medical School, University of Bristol. I co-lead the Behavioural and Qualitative Science Team for National Institute for Health Research Applied Research Collaboration West (NIHR ARC West) and I am Intervention Optimisation and Implementation Theme co-lead for NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Behavioural Science and Evaluation. I am also co-director of the Sexual Health Improvement Programme (SHIP) Health Integration Team. I'm a social scientist with a background in psychology. I have expertise in designing and applying qualitative and mixed methods in the co-development and evaluation of the implementation of complex interventions. I have an interest in developing pragmatic and collaborative intensive qualitative methods to enable responsive evaluations to support effective implementation of interventions. My research interests including users' experience of health and health services, using co-production to improve the design, evaluation and implementation of interventions. I work across sexual health, public health and primary care.
