Gonçalo J. L. Bernardes
Gonçalo completed his D.Phil. in 2008 at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Prof. Ben Davis. He was then awarded a Marie-Curie Fellowship to perform postdoctoral studies with Prof. Peter H. Seeberger. After a short period in Portugal working as a Group Leader at Alfama Lda. (a spin-out company dedicated to the development of Carbon Monoxide-Releasing Molecules, CO-RMs), Gonçalo moved to the ETH Zürich to join the lab of Prof. Dario Neri as an EMBO Fellow. He started his independent research career in 2013 at the University of Cambridge as a Royal Society University Research Fellow. In 2018 he was appointed University Lecturer and was promoted to Reader in 2019 and to Full Professor in 2022. In 2024, he also became a Senior Group Leader at the Spanish National Cancer Research Center - CNIO - in Madrid.
