Dipti Kashyap
I did my Ph. D in Applied Animal sciences and developed skills in Microscopy and Molecular techniques. My PhD topic was “Detection, Morphology and Molecular characterization of microsporidia, Nosema in Invertebrate(s).”During my PhD work tenure, I learned proper handling of microscopes and well aware of its troubleshooting. I developed hand on experience in the light microscope as well as a scanning electron microscope, basic molecular techniques. Also, I have been training postgraduate students in research and a few of their independent projects, I feel enthusiastic to involve myself in learning and teaching field. Therefore, I am looking for an opportunity to enhance my expertise in teaching, researching and expanding my work ideas. Also, to enhance my scientific learning, I attended many national and international seminars, worked as a volunteer and presented (Oral/Poster) papers in several proceedings of the journal. Following this, I also worked on a project entitled, “Affect of abiotic stress in drought-resistant plants based on allele mining and bio-prospecting of genes,” at NRC DNA Fingerprinting Laboratory at NBPGR, IARI. Apart from this, I have hands-on experience in experimenting with animal systems (development of chick embryo), basic immunological techniques involving ELISA, RIA and microbial techniques including Gram staining, replica plating, and identification of sex chromatin, polytene chromosome study in Drosophila sp. and Chironomous larvae. I also worked as a Research Assistant at National Institute of Malaria Research (Indian Council of Medical Research), New Delhi, India in “WHO efficacy and ACT safety for the treatment of Plasmodium falciparum across international borders of India” project at WHO Lot testing Lab, NIMR. I am very enthusiastic to join an institution to share my creative ideas and learning in applied life sciences and shall strive to make the maximum with the privilege I avail.
