Charles Green

Charles Green, PhD is a Full Professor with Tenure and has been on the faculty of the Center for Clinical Research and Evidence-Based Medicine UT Houston since 2005. A clinical psychologist and statistician, he specializes in applying advanced quantitative approaches to clinical research problems with interests in Bayesian statistics and data mining. Dr. Green provides quantitative and methodological support for multiple departments and has taught Biostatistics, Advanced Biostatistics and Advanced Clinical Trial Design in the Master's Degree Program in Clinical Research. Dr. Green has provided quantitative mentoring to 22 physicians enrolled in a post-doctoral master's degree program for clinical research, 15 graduate student trainees, and 13 postdoctoral fellows, resulting in 14 master's theses, 7 doctoral dissertations, 51 peer review articles involving mentees as co-authors, and has contributed to two NIH-funded K-awards, one VA-funded career development award, and one UTMMS-funded career development award. He has provided data analytic support on over 45 studies funded by institutions including AHRQ, the VA, NCI, NHLBI, NIMH, NIAAA, NIDA, CPRIT, the CDC, the DoD, NASA, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Stanley Foundation, and the Michael J. Fox Foundation. These include 17 ongoing or recently completed, externally-funded Bayesian clinical trials as well as 7 ongoing Bayesian learning health-care clinical trials funded by the UT System and one UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Moonshot clinical trial using a learning health-care approach. Dr. Green has been an author of over 184 peer-reviewed publications.
