Akin Ojagbemi
Akin is a psychiatrist, trained in dementia care at the Institute of Psychiatry and the Mausdley hospital London. He received his PhD from Stellenbosch University CapeTown in 2014 and a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Trials Design and Implementation at Northwestern University Chicago. Akin’s research background is from being part of participants assessment in the key international comparative study of dementia in Nigeria and Indianapolis, and as knowledge transfer lead in the Ibadan Study of Ageing. More recently, Akin has been part of studies developing task-shifted psychosocial interventions for depression and dementia, as well as research using unique methodologies to recruit hard to reach populations with mental health conditions into research.
