Ana Filipa Silva
Ana Filipa Silva began her academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Sport at the Instituto Superior da Maia (ISMAI), before pursuing a Master's degree in Sport for Children and Youth at the Faculty of Sports at the University of Porto (FADE-UP), where she also completed her PhD in Sports Science. This highest academic level received approval and support from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) through the granting of a Doctoral Scholarship (SFRH/BD/87780/2012). Along the way, she worked in the fitness field as a group class instructor and personal trainer, as a swimming teacher/coach, and as a Physical Education teacher in Primary, Basic, and Secondary education. Since 2017, she has been teaching at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, but has also worked at the Polytechnic Institute of Maia (IPMAIA) and the University Institute of Maia (UMAIA). The course she has taught the most is Motor Development, and she has also taught Motor Learning, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Prescription and Assessment, Supervised Activities, Seminar, and Training Theory and Methodology, among others. She is the author of about 140 scientific articles, 33 of which as the first author and 11 as the last author. Currently, she coordinates the “Fitness for Alzheimer” Project (Fit4Alz – 101090386), funded with €400,000 by the European Union. She has also participated in a project funded by the FIFA Research Scholarship 2021, and two others funded by the European Union (622503 and 101181167).
