Naoise McGarry
I am currently appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Wyres lab group in the Dept. of Infectious Disease, Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. My role involves database curation for Kaptive, an in silico serotyping tool developed and maintained by the Wyres lab and collaborators in the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Previous research experience includes conducting research on blood serum resistance and phylogenetics of extra-intestinal pathogenic E. coli (Trinity College Dublin, 2018-2024), as well as industry experience working in the environmental sciences industry (2017-2018). I have a BA(Mod) Hons in Microbiology and PhD in Clinical Microbiology, both awarded from Trinity College, Dublin. I was previously selected as one of 9 finalists for the Microbiology Society's Young Microbiologist of the Year (2019).
