Jens Juul Holst
Jens Juul Holst is presently professor of Medical Physiology at the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Since 2006 he has been director of the Research Cluster for Diabetes and Obesity at the faculty, and from 2010- 2020 Scientific Director at the section for Translational Metabolic Physiology at Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, henceforth group leader. Professor Holst has pioneered the isolation and characterization of GLP-1 and discovery of the potential of GLP-1 for treatment of diabetes and obesity.
