Researcher profile

Jan Tauchen

I completed a master’s degree in tropical crop management and ecology at the Czech University of Life Sciences (CULS), Prague, Czech Republic in 2011. I then pursued Ph.D. studies at CULS in phytochemistry of tropical plants and graduated in 2016. Part of my Ph.D. thesis experiments were done in cooperation with the Institute of Experimental Botany, Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic. Currently, I am an assistant professor in the Department of Food Science, CULS. My current research is focused on the determination of biological activities and chemical composition of various novel foods and medicinal products, with special emphasis on those originating in tropical regions.
