As a Senior Research Manager and former Chairperson/Associate Professor (on Leave) of the Department of Physiology at Government College University, I have been leading and conducting administrative affairs, undergraduate and postgraduate classes, and research activities for over 12 years. I have a Post Doc from Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, University of Copenhagen Denmark and PhD in Physiology from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. I am a certified Master Trainer of PhD supervisor's capacity building by Coventry University in collaboration with NAHI-HEC. My major research focus is on the determinants and prevention of stress and metabolic syndrome, which are associated with increased risk of developing obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disorders. I use various techniques and methods, such as docking, design research, novel spectrophotometer assays, gene expression analysis, gel electrophoresis, Western blot, metagenomics, mass spectrometry, and transcriptomics, to study the role of cellular stress, oxidative stress, inflammation, gut microbiome, herbal plants, mushroom, probiotics, nanoparticles, and regenerative medicine in various metabolic disorders. I have published multiple papers and received multiple awards for my research productivity and excellence. My mission is to advance the knowledge and understanding of physiology and its applications in health and disease.
