Nienke Vulink
Nienke Vulink is a Psychiatrist and researcher at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her thesis was on Neurobiology and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Over the years she’s used genetics, brain scan and treatment studies to research several compulsive disorders. One of her BDD studies showed that 3-10 % of all patients seen by plastic surgeons, dermatologists and dental surgeons meet all BDD criteria, which led to her teaming up with AMC’s dermatology department to start up a Psychodermatology department. She is also co-founder of the Dutch Hoarding group, past president of the Dutch Society of Psychodermatology (2014-2023) and Member of the board of the European Society of Dermatology and Psychiatry. In 2016 she completed the master's MBA in Health Care Management at Amsterdam Business School. From 2014 to 2018, she was chief de policlinique of Psychiatry at the Amsterdam UMC (AMC location) and a member of the board of the Psychiatry department. In 2016, she started in the NVvP's working group on new mental health care funding and was a board member of the NVvP from 2018 to 2021.
