Syed Toukir Ahmed Noor

I’m a statistician and public health researcher from Bangladesh, currently working as a Research Officer at icddr,b. I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Statistics from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). My research focuses on global health, with particular interests in maternal and reproductive health, mental health, multimorbidity, and applying statistical and machine learning methods in low-resource settings. Over the past few years, I’ve contributed to several peer-reviewed publications as lead or co-author in journals like The Lancet, Depression and Anxiety, Journal of Global Health, and BMC Medical Research Methodology. I’m also a collaborator on multiple Global Burden of Disease (GBD) studies. I’m passionate about data-driven solutions and enjoy working on complex survey data analysis, exploring different statistical modelling, and health systems research. I also actively review for journals such as PLOS Mental Health, Archives of Women’s Mental Health, Health Science Reports, and BMJ Public Health. I’ve been fortunate to receive grants and fellowships like the Research for Change Grant Fellowship from Oxfam and the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship from the Ministry of Science and Technology in Bangladesh.
