Alexander F. Hoffman
I am a staff scientist at the NIDA Intramural Research Program in Baltimore with extensive experience utilizing both intracellular and extracellular recording techniques in brain slices. Our laboratory applies these approaches to determine how commonly abused drugs such as cannabinoids and cocaine affect synaptic circuitry. We have also applied optogenetic approaches to define novel neuronal circuitry that may play a role in drug addiction.
