Edouard Musabanganji
Edouard Musabanganji is an academic with more than 15 years of experience in leadership and professional positions in Higher Learning Institutions as well as in Research and Development project management. He is currently serving as a Professor of Rural Economics at the University of Rwanda, College of Business and Economics, and as an International Adjunct Professor at Marwadi University (Rajkot, Gujarat, India). Professor Musabanganji has published more than 40 scientific papers and book chapters in international peer-reviewed journals, focusing on Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, and Sustainable Agriculture. He has designed and conducted project monitoring and evaluations, impact evaluations, Quasi-Experimental Research (QER) studies, and Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) in various fields including energy, rural development, public health, and socio-therapy. He has attended and presented in more than 15 international conferences and research seminars, and has facilitated over 5 capacity-building technical workshops, particularly in research methods. In addition, he has been actively involved in more than 30 consultancy assignments, serving both as Team Leader and Team Member. Notably, he successfully led a highly competitive, OSSREA-funded two-year research project on Unemployment and Employment Policies in Sub-Saharan Africa. Between 2018 and 2025, he also served as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on 8 other multi-institutional research and development projects, including regional initiatives. He has a strong background in leadership, management, and evaluation of research and development projects, as well as in the coordination of various project cycle activities.
