MHR Khan
Hasinur Khan works in high-dimensional data analysis (both censored and complete). His main research interest is variable selection, model selection with regularized techniques, and statistical inference with censored data found in fields like Statistical Genomics, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, etc. He is also interested in working in statistical computing, Machine Learning, Bayesian Statistics, and Social Statistics. Besides, he is interested in statistical consultancy, which includes– general advice on applying statistical methods, including study design, data analysis, and interpretation, and all statistical aspects of business and academic research. He published over 52 publications, 4 books, and 6 R packages. He supervised many graduate and undergraduate research works and taught a variety of courses both at home and abroad. He attended and presented research works at over 22 international conferences and workshops held in 12 countries. He has received several awards, including the prestigious Conference Award for Scientists (CASc) of the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics (ISCB) for two successive years, 2015 and 2016, for outstanding research from the developing countries, the Dhaka University Science Faculty Dean’s Award for 2014 and 2016 for research excellence. He is involved with the editorial and reviewing service of many journals, including the Journal of Biomedical Analytics, Biometrics, Statistics in Medicine, Lifetime Data Analysis, BMJ Open, BMC Bioinformatics, CHEST, etc. Dr. Khan is also a member of the institutional review board of the Bangladesh Biomedical Foundation. He has obtained more than a dozen national and international research grants. He serves as a scientific committee member for different international conferences, including the International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Data Mining (FSDM 2019), the 2nd International Conference on Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems (MLIS 2020), and the 5th International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence (PRAI 2022). He is the founding president of the Institute of Statistical Research and Training Alumni Association (ISRTAA) executive committee at the University of Dhaka, for 2018-2020.
