Abstract Background: Periprosthetic joint infections (PJI) are challenging complications following arthroplasty. Staphylococci are a frequent cause of PJI and known biofilm producers. Biofilm formation decreases antimicrobial susceptibility, thereby challenging favourable treatment outcomes.
